BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Stephanie Hunte is an educator, curriculum designer, and literacy advocate with a passion for empowering families, educators, and communities to support early readers. She is the creator of the Bigs & Lils approach—referring to adults as “Bigs” and young learners as “Lils”—and is committed to making learning accessible, joyful, and culturally responsive.
As a former homeschool parent, Dr. Hunte understands firsthand the challenges caregivers face when teaching children at home. This experience fuels her mission: to create easy-to-use, high-impact educational resources that eliminate barriers to literacy and help children thrive.
Dr. Hunte is the author of an interactive literacy workbook series designed to build foundational reading skills through multisensory, hands-on learning. Her visual tutorials, available on her YouTube channel @stephaniehunte, demonstrate how “Bigs” can confidently guide children in using these tools—regardless of their own education or language background.
Through curriculum design, educator training, youth mentoring, and family engagement, Dr. Hunte continues to champion equity in education. She is based in Florida and works with schools, communities, and organizations to ensure that every child has the support they need to succeed—not just in school, but in life.
